Oil pressure sensor
Error identification: The voltage in the circuit has been below the permitted level.
Cause: Possible causes are:
• Short circuit in oil pressure sensor circuit.
• Fault in the fuel temperature sensor circuit or mass flow sensor circuit.
Notes: There is a common voltage supply for the oil pressure sensor, fuel temperature sensor and mass flow sensor. If a fault occurs in one of the sensors, the other sensor circuits may be affected.
If the voltage is outside the permitted range, the control unit uses a pre-programmed value.
The oil pressure gauge in the instrument panel displays 0 bar, irrespective of engine speed. The oil pressure lamp does not come on.
Action: Check the oil pressure sensor, fuel temperature sensor and mass flow sensor, along with the harness-to-harness connectors and electrical cables in the circuits.
