Fault code: 9016 SCANIA

Error identification:

The value from the knock sensor is repeatedly higher than the limit value.

Cause:

The fault can be due to any of the following:

• The knock sensor is not correctly fitted to the engine.

• Electrical fault in the knock sensor, harness-to-component connector or cable harness.

• Mechanical fault in the engine.

• Poor gas quality.

Notes:

There is a risk of misfiring.

May affect engine performance.

Yellow warning lamp comes on.

Action:

Check that the knock sensor is fitted correctly.

Check the knock sensor harness-to-component connectors and cable harness.

Check the knock sensor tightening torque.

Renew the knock sensor.

Check for normal engine sounds, sound recording may be affected by extreme noise from the engine.

Carry out endoscopy on the affected cylinders.
