Fault code: 624 SCANIA

Error identification:

Short-circuited to ground.

Cause:

Short circuit to injector cable harness.

Notes:

The fault is only registered when the engine is running. The system continues to try to use the injectors. Engine torque is reduced based on the number of faulty injectors.

Engine torque is limited.

Action:

Disconnect the injector cables for the injector from the engine control unit and from the injector. Measure the resistance between both sides of the coil and the cylinder block. Resistance should be infinite.

Check the cable attachments to the harness-to-harness connectors and lead through in the cylinder head.

Measure the resistance between the respective cable and the cylinder block. Resistance should be infinite.

Connect the cables to the engine control unit. Measure the resistance between the cables and control unit earth. It must be at least 1 Mohm.

Check electrical cables and harness-to-harness connectors.

Check the injector for electrical faults.

Renew the injector if necessary.

After repair, start the engine to clear fault codes.
