Fault code: 4943 SCANIA

Error identification:

The oil pressure has been too low for more than 10 seconds.

Cause:

See causes of low oil pressure under fault code 1316.

Notes:

The engine speed is reduced when the oil pressure is too low if the parameter, engine speed limitation at low oil pressure, is activated.

Excessively low oil pressure can cause severe damage to the engine and lead to engine breakdown.

The warning lamp for low oil pressure lights.

Action:

Check the status of the valves in the oil system.

Check whether the oil pump is damaged.

Check the oil filter, centrifugal oil cleaner, suction pipe and suction strainer.

Check the oil level in the oil sump.
