Fault code: 4532 SCANIA

Error identification:

The throttle cannot reach the spring position, when the throttle is slightly open, in the idling position.

Run with 15 voltage on and the engine off.

Cause:

Possible causes:

• Power supply to the throttle interrupted.

• Faulty throttle cable harness or harness-to-component connector.

• Ice or deposits in the throttle.

• Faulty throttle.

• Incorrect extra engine control unit E88.

Notes:

Engine does not start.

The fault could be due to ice forming at cold temperatures. Recommend radiator blind at outdoor temperature below 5°C.

Action:

Warning!

The power to the throttle must be cut off and the connector unplugged before checking that the throttle damper can move freely. Otherwise there is risk of injury.

1. Check fuse F552.

2. Check the actuator for throttle harness-to-component connector and cable harness.

3. Check that the throttle can move freely. See instructions in Electrical system > EMS > S7 > M, Electric motors > M34, Throttle actuator > Check.

4. Renew the throttle actuator.

To verify that the fault has been rectified:

1. Turn the starter key to the lock position and then to the drive position. Leave the starter key in the drive position for at least 1 minute.

2. Clear the fault code and check that it is not regenerated.

If no other fault is found, renew the extra engine control unit E88.
