• The injector for cylinder 5 injects too much or too little fuel into the cylinder.
• The torque contribution from cylinder 5 differs greatly from that of other cylinders.
• Injector fault.
• Compression too low.
• Fault in the fuel inlet metering valve.
The engine control unit switches off the EGR circuit and the engine power is reduced.
Run Safety precautions for the fuel system.
Run the cylinder output test.
If the test value for cylinder 5 differs greatly from that of the other cylinders, it could be due to low compression or an injector fault. Renew the injector.
If the test result for cylinder 5 does not deviate from the others: Measure the accumulator pressure. If the accumulator pressure oscillates check the fuel inlet metering valve.
