Fault code: 40993 SCANIA

Error identification:

The voltage in the circuit has been outside the permitted range.

Cause:

Short circuit in tank temperature sensor circuit

Notes:

If the voltage is outside the permitted range, the control unit uses a pre-programmed value of 20°C.

Action:

For troubleshooting the SCR system, see Workshop Manual > 03-26 Exhaust gas aftertreatment > SCR, Selective Catalytic Reduction, Troubleshooting.

Check the circuit components, harness-to-harness connectors and electrical cables.

To check whether the sensor is intact, remove the sensor and measure its resistance.

At a temperature of between 15-25°C, the resistance should be between 1,500-2,100 ohms.
