The charge air pressure sensor reading is not equal to the atmospheric pressure and/or exhaust gas pressure at idling speed.
Possible causes:
• The charge air pressure sensor indicates an incorrect value.
• Harness-to-harness connector or cable fault in circuit.
The engine is not receiving the correct fuel volume. The engine power is reduced to protect the engine.
Troubleshoot by comparing the charge air pressure sensor reading with the readings from the atmospheric pressure sensor and exhaust back pressure sensor. All sensors should give the same reading.
When the engine is switched off and the starter key is in the drive position:
Repair the fault.
Deactivate the fault code by first running the engine to operating temperature. Switch off the power. The fault code is deactivated within 30 seconds.
If the operating time since the fault code was generated exceeds 10 hours, drain the EGR cooler as there is a risk that condensed water will form in the air-cooled EGR cooler when the EGR circuit has been switched off. Drain according to instructions in the Workshop Manual, sub-group 01-65.
