Fault code: 261 SCANIA

Error identification:

The charge air pressure sensor T122 produces a value that is outside the permitted range.

Cause:

The charge air pressure sensor T122 is generating too high or too low a reading compared to other pressure sensors because there is a fault in the sensor or because the harness-to-component connectors or electrical cables are defective.

Notes:

The fault can lead to an incorrect amount of fuel and reduced engine power.

The fault code cannot be deleted when it is active.

Action:

When the engine is switched off and the starter key is in the drive position:

Compare the value of the charge air pressure sensor to the atmospheric pressure sensor and exhaust gas pressure sensor values. All sensors should give the same reading.

Also check the atmospheric pressure sensor and charge air temperature sensor T121.

Clear the fault code by first warming up the engine. Switch off the 15 voltage. The fault code is cleared within 30 seconds.
