Fault code: GMS 14083 SCANIA

Error identification:

No movement to low split. Only generated if the vehicle is in motion and with sufficient air pressure.

Cause:

• Fault in the splitter gear position sensor.

• The low split solenoid valve in the solenoid valve block is defective.

• Poorly greased and sealed splitter gear pneumatic cylinder.

• The high split solenoid valve is stuck in the open position.

• Incomplete solenoid valve block venting.

• Air leakage in the seal between the solenoid valve block and pneumatic cylinder for the splitter gear.

• Internal fault in the gearbox:

• The coupling sleeve cannot disengage and prevents movement.

• Bent split shaft.

Notes:

The required gear is not supplied, or is not acknowledged by the system.

Action:

1. Check the splitter gear position sensor. For GRSO: check the iron pin in the splitter gear position sensor.

2. Check that the solenoid valve for low split is working.

3. Check the seal and lubrication of the splitter gear pneumatic cylinder.

4. Check that the solenoid valve for high split is working.

5. Check that the solenoid valve block venting is working.

6. Check the seal between the solenoid valve block and the splitter gear pneumatic cylinder.

If the fault persists, check the inner components of the gearbox:

7. Check that the coupling sleeve can move freely and check the surrounding low split components on the split shaft.

8. Check that the split shaft is straight.
